Mentoring for
Why Choose This General Brand and OM-Specific Mentorship Journey?
All photographers arrive at their final portfolios being influenced by a multitude of sources. Some nature photographers essentially just record nature for identification purposes similar to Birders ticking bird boxes. Others are insatiable readers and YouTube, Facebook and Instagram followers. Then there are others whose Photographic Growth is dependent on the fickle world of Club Photography. Whatever the source there is there is one common denominator. Nobody who dishes out the advice takes responsibility for the end results! I do and more than anything else that is the reason why you should seriously consider this Mentorship Support Program.
Do These Photographic Challenges Sound Familiar?
-
You are the type of photographer who wants to take control of your photographic destiny.
-
You have purchased a new camera and are uncertain how to get the best out of it.
-
You are a bit stuck in your nature photography.
-
You don't know the current status of your photography and what the next level of nature photography is.
-
Your photographic workflow is slow, and editing is inconsistent and frustrating, or even worse, you avoid editing at all costs.
-
You do not have an effective rating system to differentiate between the good, the extraordinary and what's promising in your portfolio of images.
-
Over the years, you have accumulated many photographs with which you have effectively done nothing at all other than Facebook and Instagram posts at best.
-
You are driven and determined to tackle these hurdles.

The Money-Back Guarantee
At the heart of my commitment to your growth as a nature photographer lies a simple yet powerful promise: a money-back guarantee that reflects my unwavering dedication to delivering measurable results. I take responsibility for your results!
Before you quickly scroll past the idea of this money-back guarantee, please take a moment to consider the following. You get your money back, but I do not get a product in return that can simply be sold to the next willing buyer. If we ever reach a point where I have not delivered on my commitment to help you leapfrog your nature photography and editing results, I still do not get a product back that can simply be resold. The time, effort, and money I have invested in our journey together would be lost down a big black hole. I trust this illustrates the seriousness of my commitment to you. Read more about the money-back guarantee on the Workshop page.

"The relatively unknown system deserves a larger audience, and those brave and wise photographers who invested in the system but are struggling to tap into all the extraordinary technology deserve more support than what they’re getting in the marketplace." ~ Lou Coetzer
For the first time in zoological history, one cheetah mother had to raise eight cubs to adulthood. The opportunity to track Chilli and her eight wild cubs on foot demanded a relook at my beloved Nikon DSLR system. I was in search of a lightweight system that offered me the freedom to switch between still photography and videography at the switch of a button. It was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic that I stumbled upon the Olympus/OM Systems Mirrorless Camera System. The match between the 1000 plus hours that Chilli and her cubs gave me a backstage pass to their lives, and the unknown to me technology (packed into the lightweight Olympus/OM System) was a direct gift from the Photographic Gods.

The Greater Karoo, and in particular, the Samara Karoo Reserve, suffered from a severe locust plague. That gave me the opportunity to shoot Locusts in flight at 1/32000 Sec (1) and explore the potential of the unknown technology of pre-recording (2).
While Chilli and her cubs were sleeping, I learned to use the Computational High resolution 50 Million Pixel Mode shooting Handheld without the ghosting. (3,4) Although I never entered their space, the cubs soon got used to me and would approach me and play in front of a super wide angle lens, allowing for extraordinary photography, as if I did not exist (5-9).
On the other side of the super telephoto range, the Zuiko 150-400mm F4.5 +1.25 Int Converter, giving me a Full-Frame Equivalent of 300-800mm F4.5 &1000mm F5.6 weighing only 1.8 kg, allowed for previously impossible photographs.

"I was a keen Canon photographer 40 years ago with my own black and white darkroom. Then, for the last 30 years, I’d lost interest as life got in the way.
I was invited recently by a good friend to join him on a photographic trip to Alaska organized by Lou to photograph the bears. To cut a long story short, Lou revitalized my passion for photography. I was so impressed with his intricate knowledge of photography and the explanations of the advantages of the latest Olympus technology with the high shutter speeds and smaller photosensitive sensor that I converted to the Olympus OM1MkII with a series of matching lenses, his advised editing software and a mentoring program. He suggested that my brother and I share the program, which he conducted on Zoom with the two of us, cutting the cost of the program by half - seriously good value for money for such an accomplished, knowledgeable professional in Olympus technology and how to glean the best from the unbelievable options available.

"What a great opportunity I have to critique the images from my previous shoot so that I can utilise that information to ensure the next ones are better than the last."Lou has a sharp eye for picking out details that can enrich my work. His ability to dissect an image for its good and bad qualities helps me to see things that I wouldn't have noticed myself. He is honest about what doesn't work and is equally encouraging about what I am doing that does work. He makes himself readily available for comprehensive sessions as well as those quick "check in's" to see how things are going and to take a peek at what I have captured".
